Chris Campbell, CEO - Consulting Engineers South Africa, is no newcomer to the long and hard road to success. He is a Professional Engineer, having started his career as a Draughtsman in 1981 from his humble roots in Newclare, Johannesburg, as a bursary student from the high school, St. Barnabas College then located next to Sophiatown, Johannesburg, in 1980. He progressed to the level of Senior Technician, with a Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering in 1986 and eventually obtained a BSc Civil Engineering degree (Summa Cum Laude) in 1995 at the Florida A & M University in the USA. He also holds various certificates and diplomas in management and leadership. He has worked for several consulting engineering companies in various capacities, was a Senior Manager at Transnet and recently held an Executive position in the Aveng Group. His institutional involvement too has been in various capacities ranging from being a SAICE Vice President for several years, Vice President of the Engineering Council of South Africa, immediate Past President of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and Vice President of The World Federation of Engineering Organisations, a UNESCO supported NGO.
Chris is very much a family man, married for 31 years and is blessed with two daughters and a grandson. He is a handyman and a keen golfer.
