Peter Kleynhans is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer, a Chartered Engineer, a Professional Planner and a Professional Construction Project Manager, who has broad ranging experience, spanning more than 40 years. He is a Fellow or Corporate Member of six professional institutions in South Africa and in the United Kingdom.
His experience includes strategic planning, co-ordination of professional services, directing the execution of projects, urban and rural development, town and regional planning, capacity building, facilitation, water and sanitation services, streets and stormwater drainage, as well as management support to central government, regional authorities and municipalities.
Peter has been actively involved in various professional institutions, including serving on Council and the Executive Board of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) as well as on the Council of the Institution of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA). He was SAICE’s President in 2013.
He was awarded the SAICE President's award in 2002 for meritorious service to SAICE and for significant ongoing contributions towards the Civil Engineering Profession. In 2010 he was awarded the SAICE President’s award for exceptional voluntary service to SAICE.
