Ray McCauley

Ps Ray McCauley is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Rhema Bible Church North, as well as the President of Rhema Family Churches and the I.F.C.C. He is also Co-Chairman of the National Religious Leaders Council (NRLC) of SA. He lead his first church service at the home of his parents, Jimmy and Doreen, attended by 13 people; today the church has a 45 000 strong congregation. After his parents’ living room grew too small for the services, the church occupied many buildings from a cinema complex to a warehouse. In the mid-80s he led the church in the acquisition of a large portion of land in Randpark Ridge upon which the current buildings stand.

Ever a church statesman, he and other religious leaders facilitated peace initiatives that led to SA’s peaceful transition. Pastor Ray is a regulator contributor to the Star Newspaper and uses this platform to commentate on current affairs in the country. He was key in the formation of the National Religious Leaders Council - a body of Leaders drawn from different faiths represented in SA, to engage the government and society on issues of national concern.
